Today (22 March 2025), Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health, revealed that on 21 March, Dr. Sophon Iamsirithaworn, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Public Health, Health Region 6, brought Dr. Surawit Sakdanupap, Public Health Doctor of Rayong Province, along with Dr. Phusit Traiphumphon, Director of Rayong Hospital, and professional nurses at the ICU of Rayong Hospital who were physically assaulted by relatives of patients because they did not allow relatives to bring young children to visit patients with severe infections in the ICU due to concerns about the children’s safety, to meet with him and Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, to report on the progress of the legal proceedings.
